There was a group of miners in Russia (location unknown). After a while of mining one day, htey bagan to hear a baby crying. Some of the miners got scared and left the shaft. The rest remaining decided to continue to find out what the noise was.
Knockers most likely... I haven't heard of this particular story but miners of old and even modern miners have told stories of small creatures living beneath the earth. they called them Knockers after the strange knocking sounds they made hammering on the walls. They were first made known in the time of the Phoenicans in cornwall.
One of the miners upon hitting something, he saw a creature not of this world.
It is only recently (many years after the incident) that he has started talking.
Has anyone heard this story and know anything about it?

Miners developed the science of Knockology easily desciphering the codes which guided them. As these Cornish miners emigrated throught the world they discovered Knockers all over.
No one has caught more than a glimpse of a Knocker, occasionally a trickle of faling pebbles will mark where one has dodged out of sight. A ick glimpse of movement or stealthy sounds of a small creature moving out of sight are the best evidence appart from the knocks themselves. It's beleived the resemble or are a type of gnome, Paler with little hair though.
