I was fourteen at the time, I awoke one night to giggling in my room. Two feet away from me was a being that reminded me of a troll, long skinny arms, gnarled, hairy body, it was sitting crosslegged pointing at me, giggling.
I was petrified and as this thing was blocking the exit the only thing I could do was bash on the wall for my parents to come, and this is the last thing I remember.
I woke with a bruised hand and I remembered every second of it, not like a dream at all.

Yes. You are not alone. When I was young...I had a number of visitors. Now they only visit in Dreams. They were always shaped like a Sun figure. I didnt know what to do. At first I couldnt move or talk, and then when I could I would scream for my parents. Sometimes it worked and other times it didnt. I know this sounds crazy..but they would scream at me, and scare me and hit me and I never knew why.....They hated me.
I never ever figured out why. It all stopped happening, when I was 4. Then when I was 24, it happened again...I didnt see sun figures, I was just held down and paralized in my boyfriends apt. I couldnt sleep very well for 2 years. I even spent about 450.00 on Psychics. I found out someone wanted to reach me and hurt me, and thats about it. I was told to visit an Indian reservation and find out what the spirit wanted. 3 years later, after being cursed in everything I did,It started again. Its a horrible......horrible feeling and life, and I cant seem to stop it. I was raised as a Jehovah's witness.......and have been out of faith for years. Do you have any explanation? I am scared and so tired.............

I'm the one who keeps wishing for a paranormal experience and don't think I got one. But I have to wonder if it was just a dream. I know for a fact I was asleep but I dreamed that, well I'm not sure where I was but I know I was standing on sidewalk and I got a weird feeling and I don't know how but I knew it was a spirit and it went right through me. The thing is I can vividly remember what it felt like I got chills all over, it felt like getting blown on. Like suddenly someone blew in your face except 100 times as hard, then it felt like my stomach or something dropped, and I took a deep breath and it was over. I don't remember anything else about the dream except how it felt, do you think it could have been the experience being validated for me or just a dream like I think it is. I only told my husband about it because I felt stupid, but it bothers me. I'd much rather see, hear or smell one rather than invading my body, but It went through so fast. Like swoosh and it was over. Other than that I keep wishing for validation and am getting none. chris

About the strange "creatures" KY...My sister and I used to see what could be described as leprecauns, elves or trolls. They used to laugh to and talk amongst themselves. They never entered the room that my sis and I sometimes shared. They wore clothes and used to peek into our doorway. Scary stuff for sure..I am in my twenties now and still clearly remember the sounds they made. I too understand your experience.

Wow! This is really interesting. I was just cruising this message board because I find the paranormal fascinating, and I am certainly a believer in spirits, ghosts, etc.

I could really relate to your stories--but I personally have a medical explanation.

I too used to "see" things when I was a child. As I grew up, I stopped. Nothing at all.

Then, two years ago, just before turning 30, some strange things started happening to me. It started with a very, very profound sensation of deja vu, and it was like a movie was being played in my head, followed by a feeling of internal pressure like I was either about to burst out of my skin or that someone was in there with me, and then like I was just outside my body, increased heart rate, difficulty breathing, pressure on my chest, very brief paralysis, etc. The physical symptoms were very similar to the feelings I got as a child when "seeing" something.

I didn't know what was going on, and thought maybe I was having a panic attack, so I went to the doctor. About a zillion tests later, I was diagnosed with a form of Epilepsy. I found out two interesting things. Many young children have very mild seizure disorders that go undiagnosed, as they are caused by developing neurons, etc. In the great majority of kids, this goes away by itself by adolesence. The second thing I learned was that visual, auditory, and olfactory hallucinations are very often precursors to seizures (known medically as "auras".) As an adult, my particular aura is an overwhelming sense of deja vu.

I find it fascinating that much of what you all have experienced is so similar to my seizure symptoms--including the return of experiences after so many years! Have any of you considered having an EEG? This is what diagnosed my seizures. It would be interesting to know.

Now, on the not-so-scientific side of things. My mom used to see things when she was little. Her mom used to see things when she was little. My grandma's mom used to see things when she was little. In fact, so strong this was in my family that my great-grandma had a particular Danish word for the phenomenon. I only wish I could remember it now!

I have had a similar experience when I was a child. I was laying in bed around 10pm when a "lassie-like" collie put it's paws up on my bed. it seemed very friendly. when I sat up in disbelief (as I didn't own a dog) it got down and just...swirled up. It vanished in a spiral like appirition. There was no light or sound that I can remember associated with it and I just chalked it up to imagination. I've never forgotten it, though. I should note that although I am enthusiastic about the possibility of paranormal phenomonon, I believe in the scientific method, and neither fully accept or fully deny the possibilities. I also should note that nothing like this has happened before or since. Self activated mental state or projection... or something more?

In search of paranormal sites I have stumbled upon this message board. I too have had some very vivid and strange dreams in my lifetime. I totally believe in spirits and unknown entities as well, although I have never really seen one first hand, it was through a photo that my friend and I took on an excursion to a cemetery to try to get some spirit photos that I saw something after we got the film developed. Although I do believe in them I am still always skeptical about any such reports or stories I read feeling that some things can be explained. I was haunted by dreams of demons a few years ago when I was about 26. I found out I was living in a house where a man had commited suicide not even a year before I moved in. I was terrified at first by the dreams but as they occured more and more often I realized nothing could hurt me and they would only have power if I allowed them to. I didnt believe they were anything but bad dreams at first, but other very strange incidents led me to realize that something very nasty was at hand. I soon moved from the "bad house" as I began to call the place where it all started and the "demons" followed with me. It took me some time but with the help of some of my psychic friends I was able to stop them from entering into my dreams. It has still left me a bit shaken although I know I am stronger then they are. I used to not be able to sleep even as a child unless it was pitch black in my bedroom. LoL now I have to keep a light on. So even though I know I am safe when I sleep now I still like to be able to see what is going on around me while I am heading into dream land lol.
I also wanted to add that a couple of my family members had the form of childhood epilepsy mentioned in one of the above messages. They did seek medical help and had to take medication for the problem but they all seemed to outgrow the condition by the age of 8. It was hereditary in my uncle's family apparently. They all went through some form of it but none of them ever experienced any other problems due to it as adults.

I swear something has changed! this escalated 3 nights ago. I talked to a self proclaimed necromancer. a young man, not much younger than me though. early 20's I think. we started speaking about spirits and he related his experiences to me.I would get mild tingles here and there before. but as this young man spoke I swear I believed every word he said. he was either a gifted orator or telling the gods own truth. as we spoke i felt an icy wind blow up my back. i asked him if he felt a draft he said it was cool in the restaurant. as the conversation turned from spirits the chills ebbed. a little later we spoke more of spirits and the chills returned. I mentioned that i wondered if he had and the only word i could come up with was "posse" with him. he said his aunt who is a medium says he has a companion. an older man. that night I came home and my brother's dog, (i live with my brother and his family) was running back and forth furiously and growling at me. My first thought was "i wonder if I have a companion now" well I just got iced from head to toe for almost a full minute. why the heck does it have to be a cold feeling darn it. why can't it be something pleasent. *sigh*

In my own defense here I talk about spirits all the time and never got chills like that prior to this conversation. I think maybe I ran into an actual spirit this time (his companion) and not a self induced psychosomatic sensation. this was a new experience.

my memories of the night, I went to bed, the next thing I know I'm out in the livingroom in front of the big mirror over the fireplace. i think I heard something like scraping and a growl. then an arm as big as I was, swept out of the blackness in the fireplace and tried to grab me. I woke in bed with a start, ok it's a nightmare. but my mom told me later that day she had found me running around the living room screaming at the top of my lungs which is what I was doing in the dream. she said she put me back to bed, apparantly i didn't struggle or fight her, I just went back to bed. I don't remember anything except that huge scaly black arm with clawed fingers reaching for me and me screaming for mom and dad trying to dodge it. dream or not events of that emotional height tend to scare the shit out of small children. i was 7 or 8.

hi all, i hope someone can help me out here. i
have been experiencing some electrical
paranormal.i dont recall when it all started
happening. but this is what has been happening
everytime i'm on the road while i'm driving there
would be a row of lamp posts some lit some not and
as i am driving by them they would either turn on
or off.i just find it weird that it happens only
as i get near them. i can almost predict which one
will flicker. it also happens while i'm walking on
the sidewalk too. plus i don't think it is just
lamp posts. i get a lot of static electricity and
get shocked a lot when i touch metal objects.
strange thing is i don't have rugs or carpets in
my house.i did get to talk to someone about this
in a chatroom he gave me an explanation, he said
someone that i know that had passed away is trying
to get in touch with me, and the electrical
experiences is there way of trying to get the
signal

Hello..I am new here, but would like to share this experience. In 1984 I moved from my home town to a new home in a new town. At this time, my mom had been dead for 4 1/2 years. I was sharing a home with two friends.
One evening, about a month after moving in, I was home alone and had fallen asleep on the couch. Upon waking I saw a shadowy figure moving from the area of the front door through the living room and disappearing just before reaching the dining room. The only light on was a small lamp next to the couch.
I immediatly seemed to know it was my mother's spirit, coming to check out my new home.
Another experience, occured in about 1992, after my dad had been dead for several months. I had a very vivid dreal in which he and my mom were sitting in a room together just visiting with each other. It seemed to tell me that they were together in some sort of afterlife.

Wow it seems this goes on all over the world i havn't had the experence but a nephew has.
A friend has had what i beleive are called night terrors and wont talk about it much as every time she speaks about it, it happens again she is never harmed though.

Really far too much to tell...basically I fooled around with some voodoo not thinking that it was real. 2yrs later something happened. For 3 nights I was visited by what I thought was a young girl in need of help. 1st night wild hallucinations( regular faces turning into creatures...a guy hanging himself from a chandelier, sexually explicit acts...)2nd night, motion picture of her ordeal of partying with 2 gay men who raped and beat her to death...no sound..but color..motion picture style. 3rd night..she manifests(with another little girl) and points to the ceiling to reveal a "slide show" of family photos..she never spoke except what I believe I heard coming from my husbands snore..mamama...yes my husband was in a deep sleep all 3 nights while I was talking aloud. I was so tired from being up for 3 night that I began to hear voices in my head and I realized that there was more than one in the house. We set up a video camera and went to the hotel..Completely freaked out when I realized that in my dreams they were still with me. Still there was no sound but each one introduced themselves. When the one girl told me"I hate you bitch!"They allowed me to sleep maybe 3 hrs that evening with frequent interuptions of singing through the air vents at the motel"go back to sleep..sleep..go back to sleep...sleep.They said they knew about the video camera and that I was going to get the investigators. When I returned home I had my husband sleep on one side and my son on the other. Since I had been up for 4 days now with only 3 hrs sleep I was catching a cold and was having coughing fits..I was mocked ...it was 12am...I told my son to drive me to my grandmothers house that I dont know why but I knew that if I stayed something bad was going to happen to me. My husband said that just 20 minutes after we left he had to get up to see about a loud crash he heard in the kitchen. It was nothing and he slept that night. During the 40 minute drive to my grandmothers house I felt like something was in the back seat but the whole way I kept saying the Lords Prayer...after the first 15 minutes the feeling was gone.My grandmother is southern baptist..nothing bothered me there but I was a mess and my whole family rallied around to get me help. I went to 3 doctors who all found nothing physically wrong with me. I ended up with REMERON sleeping pills. After a week my grandmother said that I needed to go home. The catholic priest blessed our house but I was still afraid and always felt a presence. My father and his wife visited a week after that and stayed in our room. She is catholic..she heard the person walk down the hallway and stand at the bedroom door several times thst evening but she said her rosaries? and it stopped at 1am that same evening downstairswhere my husband and my son and I slept...my son and I had dreams. His a dark shadow walking down our stairs carrying a wine bottle...Mine...Someone unearthing the voodoo doll that I burried 2yrs ago by the pond I have in the back yard. That day my father and his wife were putting a puzzle together in our living room so I decided to go on the computer to check E-mail..I began to answer someone on the message board at some paranormal site and there was a loud thump on the wall behind the computer and then a force ...I mean I was resting my leg up on the table and it was as if something was pushing the whole table against my leg. I checked with everyone in the house and everyone thought somebody else dropped something heavy or something..I went out to the deck later to smoke and my dog was sniffing the chair directly across from me and then cowared away.That was the week of April 8th. Since then I pray,Ipray,and I pray. I keep a whit candle burning the whole time I am at home. I have crosses in every room.I dont stay home unless someone else is here..I dont work so I just drive around..basically I have no life...The house is up for sale. Ive done everything the website said...brooms,hazzlenuts,dirt to cemetary...everything. It is better but I KNOW BETTER. There are still rapping here and there my computer acts up, the dog acts funny, and just last night I had more sex dreams...What am I dealing with. How do I undo what I have done? Do they want me or have I just opened up a portal here at this house? Will moving help? Please help me. My husband and son do not GET IT and it sometimes causes arguments. My husband who supposedly loves be sometimes gets cruel with his teasing me about the "boogeyman". This hurts me because he just does not get it. I guess nobody does..but that dark side is frightening..I dont want any part of it and I never want to go there. I just want my life back.My mother says I need to do whatever is best for me even if it means leaving my family and moving out on my own. That seems to be my only alternative now. I am a 16 year old and have seen spirits ever since i turned 13. My mom started seeing spirits at this age too. I am terribly frightened. The spirits have never bothered me until about a year ago. I was laying in bed one night and i felt something touching my leg. I figured it was just a spider so i brushed my hand against my leg and tried to go back to sleep. I felt something touching my leg again and this time it actually moved the shorts i was sleeping in. I tried rolling over to the other side of my bed to get it to stop and it stayed right with me. The next morning when I was getting in the shower, I noticed small bruises like pinch marks and small scrapes on my leg. Not much happened after that except every once in a while it would feel like something brushing against my face.
Just last weekend these weird occurances started happening again. I was laying in bed and it felt like something was rubbing my leg. Some other things happened that I don't really care to talk about, but my friend called this spirit an Incubus due to the things that happened.
Just last night, I was laying in bed saying my prayers and I felt something touching my face. I tried to ignore it but all of a sudden I got a sharp pain on my right cheek and it started to burn a little. I decided to get up and look in the mirror and I saw 3 thin scratches down the side of my face. They kind of looked like cat scratches but I do not own a cat.
These occurances are really bugging me, so if you have had something like this happen to you, i would really appreciate it if you could talk to me about it. Thank you.

HI i have many of unknown tings happen to me i dont know how or why just yesterday i was sleeping and was woken by someone calling my name it sounded like it was all around me but when i replyed the voice stopped.When i was about 10yrs old i was staying over my grandparents house. I went to the bathroom at about 12:30am. when i was walking down the stairs i happend to look into the livingroom i saw a old man wearing cloths from the 20,s a brown hat with a feather on the left side of the hat .He also had old corn cob pipe in his mouth.

Hi my name is Valerie, and I have had a lot of paranormal happenings, seen accidents that were going to happen(which did) seen ghosts, stroked ghost animals, seen UFO's. Had visitations of poltergeists when I was in my 20's and younger, I used to get a bad headache, and a doom feeling. The House I lived in when I used to live in England, was haunted badly. I live in Australia now, been here for 20yrs. My Mother died 2 yrs ago, and she visited me, whilst I was staying with a friend of mine, My Mother told me "not to worry Val,I'm all right dear, I'm very,very, happy", I was estatic seeing her, she looked so well and vibrant, not how she had left this Earth, she had a stroke, and aged 92yrs old. She was a truly little Darling.

I've had numerous experiences throughout the years that stand out, but insofar as experience of spirits is concerned, for me, it's an everyday thing. My house has nine in residence that are permenants, that number is subject to change. I sense them, see them from time to time and occasionally hear them. Frightens a lot of people to think that their house is "haunted". It's not something to fear unless you've got a malevolent force or a poltergeist to contend with. I've had all the usual stuff, things disappearing and reappearing in unlikely places, lights switching themselves on and off, writing in the dust on the television set (and believe me , I asked everyone in the house to be absolutely sure no one was playing a joke with that one). One of my most momentous experiences happened when I was about twelve years old. It was early morning, a friend of mine had slept over the night before. We heard footfalls coming up the stairs and into the hallway. Somehow, I knew it was neither of my parents. Into my room came a jet of white light I'd say four and a half feet tall. Being only twelve, I didn't know what was going on and was petrified. The entity disappeared as quickly as it entered, and this is only one of many experiences I've had. Spirits are literally everywhere. And they seem to have a particular liking for me. I don't know if this attraction has to do with the fact that I am clarivoyant or it's just my life force. Not all my experiences have been good either. I've never come to harm, however. There was one thing that happened that I still can't explain and am trying to figure out to this day. About five or six years ago, I was awakened by a low murmuring. It was a male voice, speaking to someone, but not me. I rolled over to see a small black compact figure with no features by my headboard. By the time I jumped up to get the light, he was gone. Hasn't been back since so far as I know. It was an automatic reaction on my part and now, in later days, I wish I would have addressed this spirit to find out what he was looking for. Might have just been a guardian, or even a relative. I may never know.

Hi i have been having weard incounders to i was laying on my bed when i saw right next to me a white figure like a cloud it toughed me and i went nume could not move could not keep my eyes open it really skared me. I dremped about the shuttle crashing 2 weeks before it happened. I kept asking if there was a shuttle up there no one knew if there was. Saterday morning before i turned the tv on i saw 7 black shadows walking in front of me in my room. I turned the tv on and all Isaw was the shuttle braking up like in my dream all the astronauts were in black insted of orange in my dream. It came down in a big matropolas by a lake or river you can say texas would be that. I see orbs all the time.

I have experiences where I get there feelings. I was driving with my mother, going up a large hill. I kept getting the feeling that I should not be there. It kept affecting me, I had to get out of the car. I got out and walked away fromt he car, my mother went with me wandering what the problem was. I turned around and looked at the car. Moments later the hood shot into the air and the car began to be covered in flames.... That experience haunts me sometimes in the night. I keep thinking what if I didn't get out of the car, what if i would have relied on my feelings to begin with and simply not went up the hill and went straight home...

I work at an upscale bar in my city. the building is very old,being an original downtown building, and has a ghost down in the main bar area that many witnesses have seen. there has also been voices, noises, and the sound of bar stools and tables being moved, but on inspectiion have not been moved anywhere. This spirit is friendly but there is something upstairs that I feel is pure evil and never has been human, much like an elemental. The bar manager and I had gone upstairs to look around and were chased out but what could only be described as something that felt really, really bad!
Despite the fact that it was over a hunndred degrees upstairs, my skin was like ice for an hour after we went downstairs. I blessed the area upstairs and sealed the doors and windows with salt, but forgot to spread the salt against the wall that is shared with the business next door. Soon after that it went into the antique store next door. The manager next door is in the process of having a priest come to his store, although none of us at the bar said anything at all about it. The bar is in downtown Evansville, Indiana if you want to visit. Just ask the bartender about it.

since my childhood days ive been interested in the paranormal and since my youthful years i had so many strange ocurances that i couldnt acount for.i know that because of my interest in this subject and my involvement that i littery opened up that doorway into the unknown a door that is hard to close.alot of things i couldnt unerstand.i was often blamed for things that happened which i had no controll of.to this day some 30 plus years later my interest and involvements grown.i had and have so many encouters i could write a book and those who know me best can atested to this . no matter where i lived strange occuranes always happened even to this day icouldnt understand as a child why i was picking up certain feelings in differt places often bad where i had to get out and why i could see and describe what ive seen that the others couldnt others will confess to this i was told many times that not to fight it but go into it they say that im sensitive that i can pick up on these things i often thought that it was either a gift or a curse but whatever it has grown almost 40 years later no matter where i live thinghs still happen i just wish that i took more pictures in my years .for several years now me and a friend also partner have been investigating paranormal activity on long island and whenever i get a feeling we snap away with the cameras and we usually have good results i have pictures of some weird stuff .i do not mind showing them but i do not want oters to use them .my feelings have been amasing and teted i know i am not psychic but i do pick up on energy. i am not interested in money or any fame or trying to make any claims just my experiences.together me and my partner investigate hauntings we do not charge for our service we are only trying to show that things exist that we know little about that there is more to life and death there is an energy that remains long after we are gone . im doing this to prove that there is agood and bad energies out there everything remains in a balance i do not like to scare people so often i keep things inside.we try to help others with there paranormal experiences.

Hello, I am new here also. When I was 17 my parents had sold our home and moved into my great grandmothers house.
One evening, I was really tired thought I would just grab a blanket and pillow and crash on the floor. Well, after just getting comfortable the blanket moved off of my feet. I thought it was the dog. I just coverd them back up. It happened again. The third time I was mad. I sat up and something was bent over looking at me. I could not see a face only a silhouette. I started screaming. My mom woke up and heard me. Turned on the light and it was gone. I was shaking and crying I was so scared. My dog wasn't even around. I made my mom hold my hand so I could fall asleep. Later, I found out that my great grandfather had passed away in that house.
