Vampires are most intriging and they seem to
emanate sexual overtones to the common lay
person... The sense of self and self worth that
the victem seemlessly must loose in order to
maintain some structure of/in life when knowingly
faced with the reality of being bitten... Thus...
the situation as a wanting reality for myself
anyway is negative...But the knowledge and
fantastic novel by Brahm Stoker and the movies of
and about vampires ...etc... I
ADORE..."smile"

There is a Myth, "myth's usually have some seed of truth somewhere" that a particular brand of spirit would "juice" it's victims and then return to it's grave. "i appologize for not remembering the country of origin, middle europe somewhere" If these foggy creatures where followed back to the grave after they vanished into the soil if the body where to be disinterred you would find a ruddy bloated corpse, bloated with blood. the kicker is this could be months or years after this person died. I forget how they dealt with it. I think incineration.

By Robert Stiller on Thursday, November 8, 2001 - 02:56 am:

and although I find the subject of the supernatural vampire an interesting topic for reading, I find it appalling to desire such a curse. But to each their own.
pro's if we believe all of it include
dominating all life in your presence.
inhuman strength.
super speed.
regenerative capabilities
the ability to create more vampires to be your little slave people because you are an older stronger vampire.

the cons
never again to walk in the sunlight
eternal life until the sun super novas and you die in the flames
if you make it off the planet you would wind up eternally bored drifting through space waiting for anything!
backing up a bit before the destruction of earth which is astronomically actually pretty soon since the sun is old for it's grade.
you will never have someone love you for you only because you dominate them or because they crave power. meaning they will betray you if you encounter an obviously more powerfull vampire
YOU wouldn't be a powerfull vampire for centuries so you would be some other vampires little nancy boy hoping he "or she" doesn't tire of you. you would probably not care considering you would lose your immortal soul. meaning it wouldn't be technically YOU it would be the machine which is your body, possessed by darkness with your memories. To sever it's ties it would kill everyone you cared for in the slightest. but it would take it's time feel comforted in that. You would be assailed by any holy symbol you ran across. You would be announced by every animal that could sense you that you cannot immediatley silence. you couldn't ever just hang out with people anymore, not that you'd want to because you would periodically be consumed by blood lust. personally I like being able to roam the earths surface at any hour.

and if you discount all the hollywood crap and fall back on what MOST of the old myths claim you would have very little more power than mortals, "live" in mental torment for eternity or until you are freed by being slain. one thing which all the old myths are consistent about. it IS a CURSE not a dark blessing. I'd like to play in the matrix myself if i had to live in a movie.

I don't really believe vampires exist, myself... maybe a few individuals with "psychological issues" who might like to *think* they are.

...but I will admit that I love a good vampire movie or book! And the traditional "Hollywood vampire" seems a lot more gentlemanly than anyone I've ever dated... heh... darn. Too bad they're only Hollywood. Right? *smirk*

By Brian on Sunday, December 2, 2001 - 06:07 pm:

i beleive in almost everything paranormal, but the truth of the matter is that vampires dont exist.

ok, in the 1620's in turkey i think, people would be bitten by rabid dogs and get rabies. they would become insane and sometimes bite people. around a few years later, there were legends created about crazy people who were bitten by animals and would bite you and turn you into one of them.

how the rest of the stuff about them got made up (turning into bats, no reflection, ect.) i dont know.

but isnt it true that people with rabies are sensitive to light?

ok first of all, the person who staeted the conversasion , the twisted or what ever took MY screen name that I use on this page ! ya thats right YOU , "TWISTED ONE " now i go w/ the name "punkally" thanks to you . asshole. and no vamps arent real .I think it would be awsome if they were but thier not . I like the movies alot and Im into Anne Rice's "Vampir Cronnicles " but trust me thire not real .

By Blaize on Friday, January 4, 2002 - 07:26 pm:

I definately believe in vampires but everyone mistakes them as paranormal but as a mater of fact they are just humans who are in touch with their animal instincts and who are sensitive to the sun. They are not undead they just have a case of serious bloodlust. Noone can convince me otherwise because i am a minor case and i have every symptom of one except sun sensitivity.

By GOTHCHICK on Saturday, February 16, 2002 - 11:21 pm:

I got to admit , Im into the Anne Rice "Vampire Chronickles"(I cant spell that I know)my self,I wach Buffy (but only b-cuz Spike is such a hotie) , Iv seen the original
"Dracula"starring Bella Logosie to "Dracula 2000". Vampires are cool (I cant wait to see THE qUEEN OF THE dAMNED) but who knows , vampires could be real . theres alot of proof around us that could back it up.Instead of writing down a bunch of new stuff, found Ill tell you some stuff about the real dracula.
His name was Vlad Tepes ,also known as Vlad the impailer.he was known for impailing his victems and drinking thier blood . He killed more people than all the porej souls in NYC on sep.11.when he died the put a tomb in his own home , Hunadora Castle , where they put his bodie . After he died , a man who scarcly showed his face , worked there as the castle's keeper for years and years nad yaers .Aventualy , the man went away , leaving the castle in someone elses ownership, another ancester of Vlad as the man w/ the hidden face had called himself also .Years after words , the body of Vlad was found to be the skeleton of a horse .
Think about what I have just wrote , it is all true , I dont lie .trust me .

If there are people interested in FICTIONAL vampires, here are some good reads.

The "Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter" series. No other novel you read will deal with the undead in a more interesting manner.

The books from white wolf. They make the RPG Vampire the Embrace. You don't have to be a gamer geek to enjoy these books. They deal with the fact that if vampires do exist, how could they "realalisticly" survive.

As for "real" vampires, I'm with Brian.

By Tiffany on Sunday, October 13, 2002 - 03:57 pm:

The only real 'vampirism' is when people are born with it, it's an actual disease, and they do crave blood but they do not run around trying to bite people or burning in the sunlight... It is noticed at a young age if the child gets a cut for example, on their finger and wants to taste the blood unlike most kids who would cry for a band-aid... but it's not a huge deal or anything, i do have a book that explains it lots better if anyone would like to know...

I am not afraid of vampires, I am afraid of people who "think" they are vampires.

By Daughter Of The Dark on Saturday, May 22, 2004 - 11:11 am:

I saw on the news a while back that there are actually modern vampires. I didnt watch much of it because it was a bit gruesome but they apparently make sacrifices to the Devil. If you've read Anne Rices Vampire Chronicles then you could assume they were Satan Worshipers. To all you scientific "i-dont-believe-it-unless-i-see-it" people, until you can explain miricles and stuff like that i suggest you dont be rude about other peoples views. I personally believe that anything is possible. Vampire may indeed exist. Anything is possible.
