Ok...let's put aside the biblical and moral issues of the assumed CloneAID baby for a second. What is more important to me at this point is the criminal side of this, if true.

All cloning tests on animals have shown horrible side efects to all cloned animals. To bring a baby into the world with the almost certain chance that it would have disasterous complications is an act that in my view is close to if not equal to a murder in scope.

It is one thing to have a baby with horrible defects and problems naturally and care for it. It is quite another thing to know ahead of time that this will happen and bring it into the world anyway.

Why do we want to clone someone that we lost? The clone will not be that person when they are growing up. I think that we just need to learn to let go of someone. Some people may say, "You don't know what it has been like," but will making a clone make anything better? Every day that you wake up and look at that person you will see the person you lost. You will treat them as if they were that person, but they will be another unique induvidual.

If you look at it from the perspective of the person that is the clone what would you think. They might go through life(if they can even grow old) thinking of themselves as a replacement for someone that was lost. That is all that a clone is, is a copy of something.

People that want clones are only thinking of themselves. Clones are people. Cloning is like reproduction only we choose certain things. It is impossible to say that we can create people. God made us. We are to the point that we can look at what we are made up of and can put the puzzle together, but we always have missing pieces. When I say missing pieces I mean not the ones that we can't find, but the ones that are not there for us to use.

What if when this child grows up is taught that God created him? What will this child believe? Who will this child think that God is? Will he think that God is an Alien, or a supreme being that always was?

CloneAID is no more than another Cult. Only they use cloning as a way to show their religion to the world. They always have a smile on thier face. They truly believe all that they say. When one of their believers left them after 17 years of believeing in them, they asked why, if he rejects the religion now, did he not do so long ago. There are people out there that are searching for answers. Some of them can be shown things that for them can be easy to believe. Some people spend their lives searching. This person found this religion. He believed everything until he found flaws in it. How can a religion be true if it has flaws. The reason that he stayed with them so long is because he wanted to believe. For him, he found something that was true, or so he thought. When people like him believe in something so strongly it may take 17 years before something can make sense to them. Maybe he has not yet found what to believe in, but at least he knows that CloneAID is false.

I think the whole point they are trying to make is cloning is a first step.

Then they want to clone personalities by mapping the brain.

Theoretically it will be possible in the future. But does copying someone's brain patterns mean that person lives on. Clearly not, that is idiotic, and these people actually believe this to be true.

What would happen if you were alive and copied your brain patterns to another clone. Would you be conscious in two places. Clearly not. This is obsurd. There is something we don't understand, call it a soul, and that frankly we will never understand that locks us in our current bodies.

cloning just is not right. why would someone want to clone someone anyway? I can see making body parts out of your self somehow, now that is a great thing , a hospital or something that grows and keeps extra hearts, lungs, livers, eyes, all types of body parts, but there is NO point in making a clone.A clone is an entire person with feelings, a mind, and with rights. and what about the whole moral issue that was brought up, who created the clone? God, man? does a clone have a soul?stop cloning and just make/clone/grow body parts. we need them and dont have to worry about moral issues. not enough people are donors.so we coan use something that.
