Its "kinda" ok to clone?

That's kinda like saying its "kinda" ok to bungie jump with no backup cord.

You better be 100% sure, no KINDA SURE, if you want to support something like this.

Cloning, at this time, would in fact hurt countless people. The parents, the baby, society, the people who need and want medical cloning work done.

Present a complete arguement if youw ant to support this. Its not something you can do halfway.

In support of author #1's observation, we have no idea how the existence of a human with no soul is to be maintained. I cannot imagine that it would be a fulfilling existence, and I feel pity for the poor creature and the sorrows it may face, if in fact it has a mind of its own and can survive. In this context, perhaps the law of contrasts will opportune here and bring to light a very significant message to all of civilization. All people (regardless of relious affiliation or lack thereof) have an essential need and reason to develop our soul's understanding as our individual journeys here on Earth unfold. How empty would be a traveler without this capacity? Perhaps this creature will show some scientists rich in biological "knowledge" that they have completely missed the "understanding" of life's purpose?

just an observation if I may, if the topic is not too old...

how do we know that a clone would be a souless automaton?

Do animals have souls? if so then is dolly the sheep a horible freak of nature? a blight upon the earth?

I think Cloning will in it's time be a viable and workable process, one that we are just now begining to explore and understand. Spiritual beleifs or aprehensions are to be expected but what of the opposite view that with life and intelligence comes self awarenes and a spirit and soul.

From a purely technological point of view cloning is not ready to be introduced to a human study, but may in time.

The medical benifits of cloning are to great to pass over. Imagine a kidney doner being able to have a healthy kidney grown of their own genetic structure, to be surgically inserted without fear of rejection. To be able to live a normal life without the dietary restraints, the fear of infection from the lack of an immune system or the need to take the 25+ pills nesessarry every day to prevent the rejection of the transplanted organ.

accident victims needing new limbs, burn victimms getting new skin, the blind being able to see, genetic defects corrected with the growth of new organs giving people the chance to live long and normal lives..

the benifits of cloning are to great to pass over.
