There is a Book "Black Hope Cementery" and Movie Grave Secrets that were influenced on wat happened to the families that originally purchased the lots in the subdivision.

If you like this story, you should buy the book The Haunted, One Families Nightmare. It is very simmilar if not worse about a true haunting. Also, I think you should check out AMAZON.com and type in Grave Secrets:The Legacy of Hilltop Drive and you will find reviews on the book THE BLACK HOPE HORROR. One lady actually expresses the bad luck she receives after visiting the Crosby Texas subdivision.

I also live in the Newport subdivision i am very interrested in this subject. Before I was born my brother lived out here and he went to the section of the neighborhood that the cemetery is built on, which is section 8 I beleive. My mother said he came home really pale and he wouldnt talk about it. I dont know but Crosby is known to be a haunted town. If you are familiar with the area there is a neighborhood called Lake Shadows. There is a ghost by the name of Sara. Im not going to get into the story on here, but check it out if you ever get the chance. Lets just say I went, and its worth checking out.

I've been trying to research about the Black Hope Cemetery to see if it was an actual cemetery, and if the story of Ben and Jean Williams actually took place. Contact me if anyone knows further.

hi, i would also like more info on the poppets way house. i have been interested forever and now my mom is building there so please can anyone give me a physical address and tell me about hilltop drive.

By Wolfcorn on Friday, April 2, 2004 - 05:19 pm:

the address is 803 poppetts way. if you go east on poppetts way, it is the last house on your right, next to the treatment plant. the land in the woods at the end of the road is actually shown as a recorded subdivision called "black hope" on the harris county tax office website.

I read the book three times. The first time my sleeping wife freaked me out by uttering this evil, cackling laugh. The second time my wife, again asleep, reached over and switched her beside lamp on and then switched it off. The last time, I was coming to the apex of the story and the fire alarm in my home suddenly began sounding. After looking at all three locations, I found no reason for it to go into alarm. I threw the book into a brush pile where it sits today, waiting for the torch.
Something evil abides in that place. I wouldn't go there for all the tea in China.

i am a contributor to the findagrave.com web site. there are currently 5+ million names and burial information from contributors around the world usuful for genealogical and other purpose. my interest in cemetery transcription prompted me to check out this book from our local library in preperation for a visit. i finished the book yesterday and plan to go out the poppets way today.

My wife and I have been long-time residents of Newport. At our first Home on Hyannis Port South we used to have very strange things happen... things would be out of place in the house, strange sounds at night, etc, etc. We got used to the weird stuff. I bought a piano (even though neither one of us played), when the ghost started playing notes on the piano at night my wife made me get rid of the piano. She said she could tolerate everything else EXCEPT the piano playing.

We also lived on Poppets Way for about a year...never noticed anything strange at that location.
