Potential Locations

Paraseek.com Discussion Forum: Fanzone: Scare Tactics AND MTV's Fear: Potential Locations

I see people on here all the time asking about places in their areas that might be haunted. Well, let me begin by saying that history is the key to finding locations. If you simply find a building and attempt to investigate whether or not it MIGHT be haunted, you are potentially setting yourself up for a huge disappiontment. I have exhaustively researched my state (Oklahoma)and have come up with pages upon pages of locations where tragic events HAVE occured. And there are many more that I have not even found yet. Of course some are more gruesome than others, but all involve events in which the spirits of those involved MAY stick around. If Kriss or Carla are interested, I have located an Indian school just north of here that fits the "FEAR" criteria. It was built in the 1890's to "reeducate" the indians that were moved here. It has quite a history, including documented murder cases, suicides, and the like. It is now vacant, as the drug rehab organization that was using it has since departed. The grounds are large and there are quite a few buildings on the campus. The nearest towns are about seven miles north or south of the location. If you are interested, please respond to this post and we can perform an e-mail address exchange for more information. Thank you.

P.S. Of course you know I will want to accompany you on your visit if you choose to accept it. I have not been able to gain access to the grounds, but then again I am an amateur ghost hunter and most places don't pay much attention to a person like myself. However, you people seem to have the power to access places that most of us do not possess.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I have never actually heard of a ghost story coming from this place, but all of the neccessary ingredients are present for a haunted location. FYI. Perhaps an interview with a former student or employee could help shed a little light on this place.

I have been looking for an Indian Residential School. I would love to hear more. Please email me at krissstephens@yahoo.com

Kriss, has England ever been considered for an episode? Maybe the Borley Rectory? From what I've heard it is the most haunted place in England. Also, have you heard of the photos of Rita Swift? She developed an old roll of film and the first 15 or so pictures were of her daughter, then the last four or five pictures show an ancinet Native American cremating ceremony or sacrifice. As unbelievable and strange as it sounds, it's really interesting.
I was just wondering if you had any thoughts on that. Here's Rita Swift's word on it (along with the pictures):

Right, I know of those photos, they are pretty cool. The Borley Rectory is a famous haunting, and sadly the main building burned down years ago.

Yes we have considered doing an International Fear, so please let me know if you find any huge, isolated locations. :)

I think someone said this location before, but how about RoseRed in seattle although that might be to intense,

Here's a few good ones:
The Abbott Mansion, Reading MI.
Danvers Hospital
Waverly Hills
Fort Dix hospital
McPike Mansion, Alton, Ill. This one's really creepy!

This might be a long shot, and I hear it's kind of in ruins...but, what about Castle Csejthe in Hungary? It was the home of Countess Bathory. I don't know if it's haunted, but she killed over 600 girls in her dungeon and was herself boarded up in there for the last three years of her life. It's very isolated too, I believe.

Rosered is a myth, there is a building that inspired Stephen King, but the story isnt real. Nothing is too intense for us. :)

I havent heard of the Abbot Mansion, or the McPike Mansion, I will check those out. Its unlikely we will be doing any other sanatoriums or asylums unless its just freaking jumping with ghosts.

I would love to do an International Fear, if we do I will look into it. She was a bad chick.

You have to do more asylums and sanatoriums...those are some of the best episodes!! I just read about Countess Bathory, what a weird woman!! Fear in Europe would be cool.

By EyeSick on Saturday, May 4, 2002 - 03:02 am:

OOh! Or how about the castle of Gilles de Rais. He was even worse. That would be really cool. But I don't think MTV would go in for that.

By Kriss on Saturday, May 4, 2002 - 10:11 pm:

Yes, those legends/hauntings are really cool, but sadly the locations themselves arent viable.

Hey Kriss, thought I would interject here. If you could, look up some info on Devil's Island off of the coast of French Guiana in South America. It was a French penal colony thoughout the 19th and 20th centuries (1800's to 1900's for the lay persons) Reportedly, of the 18,000 prisoners interred there, 15,000 died of disease, violence, suicide, etc. Conditions were brutal, and this all occured on an island no bigger than a square mile. In my opinion, it has to be one of the most haunted places on Earth. Check it out.

Hey that place sounds great! I will check it out, thanks!
