Hi Kris. My name is Scott. I live in Los Angeles. Just a quick thought. Has Alcatraz ever been mentioned? I visited there and did the whole tour thing, but it is creepy, and even though I'm not a real export of this stuff(especially at that time) but I definately felt something menacing there. I thought it was just the creepiness of the place, but through the years, I am convinced that there has to be some sort of energy in that place, however, maybe it is to populated by tourists now? Just a thought, and I also wanted to say that I think is is so great that you take time out to go and answer all these questions. I'm glad your part of the team of Fear...

We looked into shooting at Alcatraz, but they wouldnt close the island down completely for us, and the cast has to be isolated, so it wouldnt work. Its a shame, because that place rocks!

How isolated does the cast have to be? I'm asking because the Winchester Mansion (San Jose, CA) could be a cool place as well, but it's right in the middle of a busy area. Even though you'd probably be able to get them to close down the mansion completely for you, there may not be much of a feeling of isolation. Then again the place is scary even in daylight and is supposed to be very active so it may still make for quite an adventure.

We looked at the Winchester too,, they will shut it down for us, but its right in the middle of town.

so........hire security or something

I don't think it's just that. Consider that being so close to "civilization," it's not as fully immersive as other remoet locations would be.

Even if you hired security, is that what you would really want to put yourself through if there's a perfectly good spot less known but much more easily controlled?

Once word got out I think you would have way too many people looking to crash the party or make trouble. Not worth it, imho.

Right, we sneak in, shoot our show, and hopefully are gone before the news gets out. Also, its a psychological thing, we dont want the cast to be able to run across the street to Taco Bell and call home.

But the St. Agnes Mental Hospital is located in Fremont and it is close to incorporated areas. There's even a restraunt right down the road. So why not Winchester. Oh yeah, How about the Brookdale Lodge up in the Santa Cruz mountains. I've been there a few times myself and it is very creepy. It was even on the show "Sightings" a few times.

We looked at that place, I think there were scheduling conflicts, or maybe they didnt want to shut it down for us??? I would love to shoot an episode there though, its an awesome place.
