Possible Location?

In a previous message, Kriss suggested that if we knew of a possible location, we could bring it up. This reminded me of a haunted place near where I live that I had read about a long time ago, I'm trying to find more information but the only thing I found so far:

"This site, which now lies deep in the woods, was once a mental institution for many "crazy" children in the 1930s. There is also a hospital associated with the abandoned cabins that lies 10 miles away. The children, who were violent or depressed, were sent here for treatment. Children who misbehaved were strapped to the beds with belts and beaten until they were unconscious. Many of the children were killed and due to this cruelty, the facility was closed and the gate around the hospital's perimeter was chained closed. Many have seen not only lights in the windows, but shadows of children as well."

This is in Northern California. Kriss, I'll be glad to look up more information if you think it'd be useful.

Where is this place? I'm a photography student looking to shoot old hospital ruins for a project. Any info on the location will help.

It's in the Foothills, somewhere near Auburn, about 30 miles northeast of Sacramento, California. I'm trying to find the exact location as the details of this haunted place are somewhat sketchy. Planning a drive over there this weekend to talk to some historians...

Didn't get a chance to go last weekend, so I'm hoping to go tomorrow. While browsing around, I found an interesting potential location. Anyone heard of the Pala Indian Reservation? They have some interesting ghosts & legends. Not sure if they have any structures or wether they would be willing to let the crew in, but might be work taking a look.

Taken from the website:

What is the Pala Indian Reservation?
The Pala Indian Reservation is just that, a fully occupied Indian reservation just south of Temecula California off Interstate 15.
...
What kind of legends abound there?
Pala has numerous legends there, some of them old, some failry recent. There's the "little people" to be found, a race(?) of 1 foot high "people" that if Pala has numerous legends there, some of them old, some failry recent. There's the "little people" to be found, a race(?) of 1 foot high "people" that if seen, usually mean ill fortune will hit the community in 3s. There's the "monkey man," a ghost from an extinct human race? Something else? And then there's "Takwish," a being that if legends hold true, you should avoid at all cost.

I would love to do a show with Native American elements.

I have looked Essex MM, and its on my list of places to check out.

From a lot of stuff I've been reading, Native burial grounds and war sites have always been VERY active, and not usually in a good way...

Sound like it could be a GREAT show, just on that element.

I was going to suggest Summerwind, but it burned down, it's STILL one of the most haunted places around...No buildings, but it's big, and VERY active

Dear Kriss,
That Pala reservation that Jose was talking about sounds like it would be a great Fear show. I love watching the show and just reading what he printed would be a great watcher some night. Also, that place that had a documentry on it, The St. Francisville experiment would be a great place to check out. I don't know if it was true or not but it would be something to check out. I think that a traditional haunted house episode of Fear would be cool. Make the safe house outside somewhere so they would have to walk into the house.
