Fear on mTV is the best show!!! I haven't missed a single episode yet But I'm thinking the scariest place was the Eastern Stae Jail in PHilly, PA.. I saw little more info besides from FEAR about Eastern State from "REAL SCARY STORIES" on Fox Family! I heard a recording that said "GET OUT" and that scared me to my last breath!! And when i saw the orbes from the camera that got me hyped up....I enjoy watching these kinds of show.........

But Im thinking since I just found out that there are 3 haunted places in my area... Ill try to do reserch about the places and try to see if the stories are real........BUT i dont no i aint good with talking to adults!

Anyone wanna chat you can IM me on AOL at: FRESHROVER15 !

Eastern State Penetentiary in Philadelphia is one of the most haunted locations I have investigated. It is truly a very scary place, even during the day. Especially cell block 12. I was walking down the cell block one evening and something tugged my hair. Not to the side, but straight up. I checked the entire area, there was nothing that I could have caught my hair on.

Kriss,
have you ever gotten a feeling in a location that they should not use it for a show? Isn't it really dangerous to be dealing with such negative spirits. Do you ever worry about the cast? On the show that features the crew scouting and seeting up locations they dared a crew member to go into the prison and taunt the spirits. This seemed nuts to me. Can a spirit harm or even kill a person? It seems that if you can have you hair pulled or be pushed that something really terrible could happen.

By Kriss on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 - 03:50 am:

Yes a spirit can harm a person. It is rare, but I do know of a few cases where the entity actually physically harmed living people. A ghost in a house I investigated recently managed to make two long welts appear on one of my arms. It actually broke the skin. We have it on video.

I do worry about the cast at some of these places. I was especially worried at Eastern and the Hornet. There have been a couple of locations that I passed on because the activity was too intense.

A crew member has been pushed down a flight of stairs by a ghost at a location. I think all of us are more aware of the possibilities now. Sadly, I dont get final say on the locations, so some of them are potentially very dangerous.

What did you say your background was Kriss? Are you a psychic, medium, etc.? Just curious.
P.S. Love Fear

By Kriss on Saturday, May 26, 2001 - 12:47 am:

I am a paranormal investigator. I am also a photographer. I am not the psychic on the show, that is Carla Barron. I'm glad you like it!

I also like the fact that you're so dedicated, you visit obscure chat rooms just to help out people with questions. You obviously enjoy what you do. That's very cool. Was there ever a point when you were afraid of ghosts or haunted places, and you had to overcome your fear?

By Kriss on Thursday, May 31, 2001 - 04:25 am:

Thanks for the compliment. I love reading about ghosts, and hearing others accounts. In paranormal circles this website is not that obscure.

I am still afraid of ghosts sometimes. Ghosts are scary. Many of them go out of thier way to make the living feel uncomfortable or frightened. I have overcome my fear in the sense that I work through it now, but the fear is always there. It does take a lot more to scare me now.

By Anonymous on Friday, June 1, 2001 - 05:29 am:

Have you ever been harmed by a ghost? Is there anything that helps you to get through the fear? Have you ever contacted or been contacted by a loved one?

By Kriss on Sunday, June 3, 2001 - 03:38 am:

I have been harmed by a ghost once. It was in a private residence in Lake Charles Louisiana. Very very active place, the emf meters stayed pegged. We videotaped the investigation. I noticed that left arm felt funny, like it was going to sleep. I mention this on the video. Several minutes later we noticed two welts on my upper arm, one right under the other. My skin had been pierced, and was bleeding a little. It looked like someone had hit me with a switch. I didnt feel the pain, just a weird feeling like my arm was going numb.

Experience is the best thing for coping with the fear of the unknown.

I have been contacted by loved ones on several ocassions. When I was a child I woke up in the middle of the night hearing my aunts voice calling my name. I woke my grandmother up and told her, she told me to go back to sleep. I heard it again, and told her. She looked at the clock and I eventually went back to sleep. The next morning we found out that my aunt had died at the time I heard her voice.

Also, a good ghost hunting friend of mine, Malcolm Tillotson, died suddenly in October. Since then I, and other members of the team, have seen him and he contacts me through automatic writing.

I have to say that I love MTVs Fear. Last weeks eppisode, in the mine, had a lot of activity in it. For example when the lights went off in the safe house and you could hear someone knocking. I mean that was a sign of energy being zapped which happens a lot to me when my husband and I are investigating the paranormal. My camera constantly gets zapped. There was so much activity that they all aborted the mission. That has never happened before. This week they are sending a new group. I wonder what will happen this time. I truely like the eppisodes where you can definitely say that there was some paranormal activity. Not all the eppisodes, atleast in my opinion, do.

I also loved watching Scariest Places on Earth. My husband and I watched it religously every Friday. What happened to it? It was on Fox Famly. It hasn't been on TV since October of 2001. Does anyone know what happened? Why it isn't on the air anymore? I would really like to now if it will ever be on again?

Thanks,

Tracy

I'm glad you enjoy FEAR. The mine had alot of activity on camera, which is hardly ever the case.

Ghosts are notorious for zapping electronics, I carry three cameras and tons of extra batteries just in case. We have problems with equipment on FEAR all the time in these locations, equipment that works great everywhere but the location. We went through numerous sets of walkie-talkies on the USS Hornet, it was so frustrating.

As for Worlds Scariest Places, I'm glad you enjoy it too, but dont believe everything they say. I worked for them the first summer of production, and they arent very concerned with facts.

Kriss,
I've been floating back and forth between the MTV board and here. A couple of the postings mentioned, (and I agree) that this particular episode seemed to have a particularly traumatic effect on some of the contestants. Does MTV do psychological screening beforehand? Do they do counseling afterwards? I really felt sorry for the young man.
Also, I have a location suggestion - Mansfield Prison in Ohio. I haven't been there personally, but I know that it is 'active' enough that they do ghost tours frequently, and I have a friend who had an experience there.

By Elizabeth M on Monday, April 1, 2002 - 12:00 am:

Regarding whether or not spirits can be harmful - I know of two personal accounts from two different friends. One was slapped across the face, hard enough to leave a mark. The other friend was cooking a pot of spaghetti and it was knocked out of her hands up into the air. This woman's friend witnessed a shape near her at the time of the incident. Both of these friends of mine are not the type to tell tall tales, and both respect the spirit world tremendously as a result of these and other experiences. While I absolutely love the show, I do worry about some of the situations these people are put through, all in the name of good television.

By Kriss on Monday, April 1, 2002 - 08:58 pm:

Elizabeth, all our contestants are screened by a doctor before they are allowed on the show. After they are done they have the option of talking to a therapist. We do have former contestants in therapy.

Mansfield was used already on Worlds Scariest Places, and I think we may have even used it before I came onboard.......

I have been struck by ghosts also, and its something the cast members are well advised of. I cant defend the morals of using these locations, except to say that I wouldnt ask the cast to investigate a location that I wouldnt personally investigate.

How do you get to be a Paranormal Investigator? Do you have to go to College and major in something like that? I would really like to do something like that when I'm older, even though I'm very scared about stuff like that. But I'm also very interested in it and I love watching Ghost stories and creepy stuff like that. I would LOVE to see a ghost sometime, preferabley a nice one. Even though you cant control something like that, haha.

By Kriss on Monday, April 1, 2002 - 10:46 pm:

lol! Some "universities" offer parapsychology degrees, but in my case I have a degree in photography, and alot of science and psychology classes too. I grew up in a haunted house, and have been obsessed with them since I learned to read.

I would recommend learning as much as you can about the paranormal, not just ghosts. Read everything you can find, and investigate as often as you can, experience is very important. Some of us have private detective licenses as well.

FEAR IS THE MOST INTERESTING, NAIL BITTING, EXCITING SHOW EVER. I EXCEPTIONLY LIKED THE EPPISODE IN THE PRISON. I TOO HAD CONTACT WITH A GHOST. TWICE. BOTH WHEN I WAS ABOUT 10 YRS OLD. THE FIRST TIME WAS , WHEN I WAS WALKING DOWN A SET OF STAIRS IN MY HOUSE,(back stairs) AND THE KITCHEN WAS DIRECLY AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS,I COULD SEE THE TABLE IF I TURNED AROUND, THE CHAIR WAS PULLED OUT, I TURNED TO WALK DOWN AND HEARD A SOUND AND TURNED BACK TO SEE THE KITCHEN AND I SAW THIS WOMAN WITCH I HAD NEVER SAW. SHE KEPT ON LOOKING AT ME , BUT NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO ME, THEN I HEARD THE BOTTEM DOOR CLOSE AND TURNED TO SEE , JUST THEN I TURNED BACK TO SEE HER AND SHE WAS GONE. NEVER SAW HER AGAIN. THE ONTHER TIME WAS MORE WEIRDER THAN FIRST. I WAS IN MY MOTHERS ROOM,(same house)I HAD HEADPHONES ON LISTENING TO THE RADIO, SUDDENLY THE MUSIC STOPPED ANDI HEARD THIS LADY ON THE HEADPHONES(might of been the same one , i dont know)SHE ASKED ME WHY I WAS IN MY MOTHERS ROOM, AND THAT I SHOULDENT GO IN THERE.AND IF I DIDNT GET OUT SHE WAS GOING TO TELL ME MOTHER. LATER I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A FIRE IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM WHERE A LADY WAS KILLED, WHICH WAS BY MY MOTHERS ROOM AND BEHIND THE KITCHEN. WE MOVED SINCE THEN AND I NEVER FORGOT THAT POINT IN MY LIFE AND OTHERS, LIKE IT.

Fear is a really good show. I saw one where all the people on the show quit and they said they were going to be done again. I don't know the name of it though. Anyway..
Ghosts is an odd subject for me because I have the entire up-stairs to myself (Im 15). Everytime I start talking about them or reading about them, I get paranoid. One day I looked under the sofa cushions to see if there was anything under there. I surprisingly found my mom birth certificate. That was probably the most scariest experiences in my life. It wasn't scary in the sense I found it, but that it was in the sofa and there might be a possiblity that my grandmother was there.

I was just watching an old Fear episode I had on tape. Man, I really miss this show. Wish I would have taped them all... as I doubt MTV will ever bring the show back.
